Dear Mr. Jefferson,
This journey was the corpse at its best. This Journey was America at its best.
"I have given you" I think the quote says that some one has done something for someone else or given them something I don't really know. In the beginning of the journey I signed a contract agreeing what grade I wanted and for a while I wasn't trying hard enough to earn that grade but then I realized that it was quick and easy to make my Journal entries much better. At the beginning I was earning about a C minus but now I think I have raised my standards up to a B.
Signed, Maddy
Ps. For my weekly labors, discoveries... for all my endeavors have brought to this journey, I believe i should be paid the grade of a B
Maddy, if I could give an award for The Most Improved Journal of the Corps of ReDiscovery 2009, it probably would have to go to you. You are a strong person . . . a strong student . . . who just needs to be reminded and encouraged every so often to make the most of those strengths. Your natural tendency is to kick back more. I was so glad to see you respond to my suggestions for improvement and your most recent journal entries show much improvement and attention to what I suggested. I think you also learned from what other people shared.
ReplyDeleteStill, I thought your final entry didn't quite speak to the question of how the Journey of the Corps of (Re)Discovery showed America at its best and showed the Corps at its best. A final should be a strong statement of understanding with detailed evidence of what you understand. For good examples of final blogs check out:

Thank you for your improvement this year. I hope you have a bloody good summer. I look forward to our upcoming travels in the fall.
Love,
